On Saturday 26 September, Nick Spolton and Tom Clifton spent the day at RAF Waddington for their Families Day.
We were very pleased to be invited. Families Day is a chance for service personnel to bring their partners, children and friends onto the base. It’s a relaxed day out, and it gives families a look at the place their loved ones work.
Why we go to events like this
Buying a home when you’re in the Forces isn’t always simple. You might be posted somewhere new every few years. You might live on base now but want a home of your own for later. You might not be sure if you can buy while you’re still serving, or how to use the Forces Help to Buy scheme.
These are the questions we hear all the time. Meeting people face to face, away from an office, makes it much easier to talk them through.
How we help Forces families
We’ve worked with lots of service personnel and their families across Lincolnshire, from RAF Waddington to RAF Cranwell and RAF Coningsby. We’re proud to have signed the Armed Forces Covenant, and we’re a Defence Discount Service partner.
We also offer a lower broker fee for Forces members. Our usual fee is £299, but Armed Forces and Blue Light Card holders pay £199. You only pay once your mortgage offer is approved, so there’s nothing to pay upfront.
We can help with:
- Buying your first home using Forces Help to Buy
- Buying a home near your base, or near where you plan to settle
- Letting out your home if you’re posted elsewhere
- Moving home or remortgaging when your deal ends
